Who we are
Pride of UAE (“we”) operates this website to discover and celebrate people and brands shaping the UAE. This policy explains how we process personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).
What we collect
Details you submit in nominations, applications, endorsements and contact forms (such as name, email, phone, emirate, story and photos); and limited technical data (a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention).
Why we use it
To review submissions, contact nominees for consent, prepare and publish approved features, respond to enquiries, prevent abuse and, only if you opt in, send our newsletter.
Consent & publication
We never publish a profile without the subject’s consent and approval of the final draft. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Retention
Unsuccessful submissions are deleted after 12 months, contact messages after 24 months and IP hashes after 90 days. Published profiles remain until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, or object to processing. Use the Contact page and choose “Privacy request”. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to authorised staff with multi-factor authentication, and uploaded images are re-encoded to remove embedded metadata such as location.
