Their story
Early journey
Aisha grew up in Dubai surrounded by stories: her grandmother's tales of the old creek, her father's newspapers, her own notebooks full of poems. Studying computer science, she noticed something troubling: many of her younger cousins preferred reading in English.
Turning point
In her final year she built a small prototype that listened to children read aloud in Arabic and gently corrected their pronunciation. Teachers who tried it asked for more. A year later, she left a secure job to build it full-time.
Impact
Today her platform supports classrooms in all seven emirates, with reading scores improving measurably in pilot schools. She mentors young Emirati women entering tech and speaks regularly about responsible AI in education.
What's next
Aisha is expanding the platform to support children with dyslexia and is partnering with libraries to bring reading circles back to neighbourhoods.
